other's guardian angel - 26th week tuesday guardian angels

Today we celebrate the feast of our guardian angels.  We believe that God’s care for each one of us is so personal thus he gave each of us angels to watch over us.  Pope Francis said, “No one journeys alone and no one should think that they are alone.”  “Oftentimes,” the Pope continued, “we have the feeling that ‘I should not do this, this is not right.’ Be careful. This the voice of our guardian angel.”

But there is something more important than just merely realizing that I have a guardian angel assigned to me.  It is also important to note that others too, and not just us, have guardian angels with them.  And Jesus said these angels “always look upon the face of my heavenly Father."  In other words these angels are powerful defenders who will be also become our accusers before God should we harm the persons they are guarding. Every disciple, the little ones especially, those who are weak, should therefore be held in high esteem because of the entourage who accompanies them.  Be careful about speaking ill of the other, be careful not to harm the other, because their angels can become our accusers.
The words of Jesus may come out strong at this point in the gospel but it is no different to what he has been telling us to do – respect, revere, hold in high esteem, be caring, be always loving to the other.
