psalm 34 - thankfulness - 13th week wednesday

Today our responsorial psalm, psalm 34 asks a rhetorical question which says:  Which of you desires life, and takes delight in prosperous days?  The psalm will also answer that question in the succeeding verses which however are not included in today's readings.  But the question has been asked – which of you desires life?  We all desire to live.  I suppose nobody wants to die today, correct?  Come to think of it, of the so many possibilities, ngaa kita gid ang natawo sa kalibutan?
Kon kaisa bala indi gid kita thankful nga mga tawo.  Many will do anything just to go to school however many of us in the seminary would just take our schooling for granted.  Many will do anything just to have the same privileges that you have today, pero may iban nga usikan lang, daw sa wala lang. Which of you desires life, and takes delight in prosperous days?
Kon tani we should be thankful, not only by saying thank you but by appreciating your life, by appreciating the fact that you are better off than most people your age because you are here in the seminary, by appreciating the giftedness of your presence in the seminary – people look up to you, people would sacrifice for you, people are generous because of your sacrifice here, people are so hopeful because you are here – hopeful nga basi pa man lang magpari ka.  I hope we appreciate that by doing our studies well, by doing your duties well. Which of you desires life, and takes delight in prosperous days?  Be thankful.
