what if he asks for a snake? Thursday 1st week Lent
Jesus
said, the Father will not hand his son a snake when he asked for a fish. But we ask, what if the son asks for a
snake? Will the Father give him a snake
or in his love and concern hand him instead a fish?
What
is my point? In prayer it is important
that you ask rightly, and so that you can be sure that you are asking rightly,
then ask only for the things that God wants you to have. Ask only for the things God wants you to
have, and if you ask God for the things God wants you to ask, God will also
provide what you need.
In
the coming days, as you are about to fulfill the requirement to pass your
application letters, ask God, not for what you want, but ask him for what He
wants. It is not the priesthood that you
are asking for in your prayers, rather you are asking God for what He wants.
You are not asking God to help you proceed to theology. No, you are asking him proceeding to theology
is what he wants for you. You are not
asking God to make you a priest.
No. You are asking God instead if
he wants you to become a priest. If God
wants you to become a priest and you pursue it then he will provide what you
need. If God does not want you to become
a priest and you follow, then he will also provide for what you need.
So
will the Lord give you a snake if you ask for a snake. No. He
is you Father. That is why when you
pray, ask only for the things God wants you to have, and then your needs will
be provided for.
